kdelibs update renders kdeinit to crash

Hoi Rinse, With a new user, everything went better and faster. I removed a few . files in my home and logged in. It also went faster now. I used the original .kde and it was still good. I think the problem was caused by something in .fonts or .fontconfig, since libXft has to do with fonts. Thanks for your input. Edwin

kdelibs update renders kdeinit to crash

A recent update of kdelibs / kdebase has rendered my kdeinit to crash. What has happened? It complained about an undefined symbol in libXft.so.2.1.2, something with "SetLcd", apparently needed for my laptop with an ATI Radeon card. I built a new libXft and installed it. Now, kdeinit starts again, but my desktop has changed. The fonts look terrible, programs start slow, Firefox crashes, and more. What has happened, and -more important- does anyone have any suggestions how to get back to the worki...

RE: How to make autostart for everyone?

You could copy the files when the user logs on... and if you use NIS, then you could make a script that copies the Autostart files (or whatever files) to the user's home directories using cron.

RE: Personal settings missing

Okay, found my addressbook back. It appeared that it was not copied or so, anyway, it had the wrong name, not std.vcf. Also fixed the Firefox problem. The problem was in extensions.ini, that contained non-existing paths. In SuSE 10.1, Firefox moved from /opt to /usr/lib. Still, my desktop settings are missing....

Personal settings missing

hi, I had SuSE 10.0 installed with KDE 3.4.2. On an empty partition, I now installed SuSE 10.1 (there were specific reasons for not just upgrading the existing installation). I copied all my home directory from the old installation to the new installation. Most of my personal settings (bookmarks, desktop icons, mail, etc) are there, but a few are missing, and I cannot find where they are on the old partition: 1. my address book (!) 2. a part of my desktop configuration (backgrounds, panels) Anot...

[kopete] Sending webcam troubles - crash on accept

I got the webcam working through the router. I can see my contact's webcam, and my contact gets my webcam request. But when he accepts to see my webcam, it crashes. A window opens, I see my own image for a flash of second, and then the window closes. Kopete itself is not affected, and also my contact's webcam isn't. I use Kopete 0.12 / SuSE 10.0 and my contact is an MSN Windows client. Before I file a bug report, I like to find out if this is one or could it be a local problem? I have not been a...

RE: [Kopete] ICQ buddies all "waiting for authorization"

Just been exploring bugs.kde.org and found bug/wish 124823 that deals with kopete's behaviour to not synchronize with ICQ's server side list, but just reads it in. Apperently, my problem has to do with this behaviour. I joined the bug.

[Kopete] ICQ buddies all "waiting for authorization"

Hi, All my ICQ buddies have the status "waiting for authorization". But even when I request authorization and have been authorized, the status doesn't change. is this a bug? If yes, has it been reported? And if no, how can I solve this without deleting the users and adding them again (of which I don't even know if that would show them as authorized....)? Please advise, Edwin
