Funny menu accelerators after upgrade

Hi,

I installed the new kde 3.3.2 on my Mandrakelinux 10.1, using konstruct, succesfully (?).
I changed my bash_profile file to include the right settings for my new kde installation. I can now startup in kde 3.3.2.

But, all the menu accelerators for menus and buttons show up as ampersands and exclamation marks.
Each time I open the menu ampersands and exclamation marks are added, so in the end I can hardly read the menu items.

So something has to be broken but I can't find out what it is. Maybe something with the fonts?

Can someone help me out here?
