Double-wide rendering of items

Hi,

I have two monitors hooked up to an nvidia Nforce2 pc. I am using the on-board graphics. All of my documents are rendered twice as wide as the should be. It looks like they are streched twice as wide by some rendering engine. I see it in pdf's, kivio and openoffice. I do not see it with jpegs or konquer.

Is there some way that I have to set the DPI for these applications?
