Strange behavior of vim

For some reason when using vim in slackeware 9.1 I was getting strange behavior and found that it was due to a missing vimrc in the skel file in /etc
Im wondering if anyone elese has this issue or has noticed this in the other versions of slackware ?

There is no greater futility then running windows ME.
