user interface help..

Hi all.. just put SuSE 9 on. was using redhat9/fedora, thing i've noticed is the theme i'm using (Plastik) doesn't seem to, erm "reach as far" in SuSE as it did in RH9/fedora, what I mean by this is; some apps eg Xchat, xqf, gtk-gnutella, don't pick up this theme, they use the keramik look and the font used doesn't seem to render as well. This didn't happen in KDE with RH9.. is this because some library or other is missing? or should i install gnome? - thanks..

possibly because they are gtk-gui based applications, and not qt-based guis.

Im not sure what to do tho, however that may help.

found it.....
:quote yast:
Geramik - Adds the Keramik Look to Gtk Applications

Geramik lets Gtk applications (like The GIMP or Evolution) look like KDE applications with the Keramik style. Geramik uses the current KDE settings for fonts and colors
:end quote:

and removed it!
(although it would be nice if, as the description suggests, it passed the current theme to GTK apps - sorry don't like "keramik")

You cannot pass theme info from Qt to GTK so easily, as it is not the same. (Again one field for http://www.freedesktop.org but I suppose that it is one of the harder problems.)

Have a nice day!
