Strange GTK1/2 Issue with SuSe 9.0

Hey everyone.

I just installed SuSe 9.0 on my notebook after having tested it on my old machine...

I installed GTK2 but some tools required the installation of GTK1, too. Basically both machines have the same setup (I left out some programs like email on the PC and therefore skipped any kind of TV tool for my notebook - so nothing important changed).
Now, it seems to me, as if every program on my laptop uses GTK1 which, compared to GTK2, looks ugly -- and when I say ugly, I mean ugly! :)

Any idea how to fix this? I thought of uninstalling GTK1 but that would break too much dependencies...
