smb://blablabla opens google

Hi everybody,

I just installed SuSE 8.2 on my computer, which is shipped with konqueror V3.1.1 and i have a strange problem.

I have a sun machine running samba on IP address 10.0.0.3, with previous versions of konqueror i could just type smb://10.0.0.3 on my address bar, and everything shared was shown.

With the new konqueror, it opens google, searching for smb://10.0.0.3 :-)

A look in the manual learns that smb://10.0.0.3 should still work in this version.

Three questions:
- Where is the setting that it uses google ? (My personal favorite is yahoo)
- Where is the setting that it should search it doesn't understand the words i'm typing in the address bar ?
- Why doesn't it understand my command smb://10.0.0.3 as a samba URL ?

Can anyone help me with this problem ? Every sugestion is welcome.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Rinse,

After a quick look with 'locate kio_smb' showed me that there was no file called kio_smb. I started yast and searched for smb. This showed a few packages, including a KDE package for SMB networking ....

I installed that and now it works !

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
