Monitor refresh rate under MDK10

I have a problem with the refresh rate of my monitor. I want to use it at 100Hz. I am running Mandrake 10 Community. My monitor is DELL P780 (17" Trinitron) and it supports 100Hz without any problems at 1024x768. However the KDE 3.2 tool "Screen Resize & Rotate" as well as all other tools related with display configuration don't provide me with an option for more than 85Hz.

The monitor is detected as Custom with range (30-85 horizontal and 50-100 vertical). But even when I had it detected with the built-in driver for DELL P780, I didn't have an option to use it at 100Hz. My video card is GeForce2 MX400 64MB and it is detected properly. XFree86 is version 4.3.

I suppose I will have to edit some files.. Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance!

Similar problem with Intel D865GBF

Hello.

I have an Intel D865GBF M/B with embedded VGA and a Philips 107x2 monitor. On Windows XP I can set it up at 1024x768 at 85 Hz and OSD reports such configuration. On Linux Mandrake 10.0, KDE 3.2, no matter what resolutions, deep or frequency I select, OSD always reports 60 Hz.

Could editing the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file help to solve this?

Regards,

Salva.
