How can I open K menu using keyboard and not only the mouse?

I am asking because I didn't find a clear way to open the K MENU using the keyboard. I know only mouse clicking on K button. For example MS Windows has convenient special keyboard button or Cntl+Esc combination to open the Start Menu. I don't believe KDE doesn't have similar feature.

Thanks,
Yury.

The "Windows" key opens the K menu for me, just as it opens
the the Start menu on windows...
(IIRC I read somewhere that numlock must be off for this to work.
Not sure about this though, and I cannot test right now)
