KDE Clock

I'd be grateful for some advice. I'm having problems with the applet clock in KDE 2.2.1. It seems to be selecting random timezones. The system time is correct but when my timezone was BST, the clock was showing my timezone as MAWT. Now my timezone is GMT and the clock says it is WST (9 hours ahead).

Changing the time by right-clicking on the clock shows the wrong timezone. The KDE control panel shows the correct timezone. Changing the timezone results in the system time being changed which (obviously) I don't want to do since it is correct.
