[Kopete] cannot log onto MSN

[Kopete] cannot log onto MSN

hi,

i'm using Kopete 0.9.0 on KDE 3.3.1, but have also had this trouble on Kopete 0.8.4...

whenever i try to log into MSN, it comes up with Error 14...i can log into any other of the chat programs, and can connect with aMSN...i have tried deleting $HOME/.kde/share/apps/kopete and $HOME/.kde/share/config/kopeterc and then redoing all my accounts but that doesn't fix the problem...any suggestions

Are you going through a firewall? I am having the same problem because
our firewall restricts port 1863. Kopete should implement an additional
connection method like aMSN using HTTP protocol using port 80.

I would also make sure you have OpenSSL (openssl and openssl-devel) installed on your computer. I was having the exact same problem with Kopete 0.9.x w/ KDE 3.3.1 until I installed openssl-devel.
