Kopete wont launch after upgrade from SuSE Yast.

Hello

I am new to this forum.

I had Kopete working but since yesterday i could not connect to Yahoo account. I use SuSE 9.1 Personal. I had gotten an upgrade from the SuSE site via Yast but now Kopete wont launch at all.

I have tried in Konsole and the error that i get is this

S01060050bac00e61:~> kopete
kopete: error while loading shared libraries: kopete: undefined symbol: _ZN11KMainWindow7setIconERK7QPixmap
kopete: ERROR: Communication problem with kopete, it probably crashed.

How do i fix this?

I have downloaded an older version but it cant connect to the Yahoo.

Check if you can find a newer version of SuSE's kdelibs package(and maybe other packages) and install it. It seems to be important to have packages of libs and apps that have been compiled at the same time(*). It seems SuSE has made binary-incompatible changes.

See also http://www.kde-forum.org/viewtopic.php?t=4016 , that seems to be the same problem (note that you'll have to adapt the version to 9.1 in the URLs if you want to use them).

(*) I think it would even be fine if kdelibs were newer than the applications (because KDE keeps backwards compatibility), but not the other way around.

had to reinstalled Kdelibs3, now Kopete works just fine.
