re: [Kopete] Can't send and receive files

hi Kaleb,

i am also using Kopete (v0.8.2) and i belive that the only protocol that officially has file transfer capability is MSN. i have never been able to get it to work on my install (Mdk 9.1) but have had friends who did. also, i found this on the Kopete site:

How come file transfers don't work?
There are many reasons for this. First, MSN is the only protocol in which we've implemented support for file transfers. Support for file transfers in Jabber is currently in CVS (April 2004). Also, file transfers may not work if you're behind a firewall - see separate FAQ in the MSN section.

hope that helps you out a bit. :-)

I use Kopete 0.8.90 (CVS >= 20040424)..

I can send files on MSN, but theres something weird.. sometimes with certain users I can receive files from them.. other times (and with other users) they tell me they get a "Transfer Failed" when they try to send me something... am I supposed to be able to receive files with MSN on kopete? (this was the case even before I updated to the CVS version)
