konqueror won't browse net at all. help!
i just loaded the new mandrake 10.0 (my first linux ever!) and through lots of trial and error was able to get kbbb 2.1.4 to connect to my isp (i think?). i can use a terminal window (konsole 1.3.1) to ping and traceroute sites on the web just fine.
my problem is getting konqueror 3.2.0 to show any web pages (it shows my pc's files just fine!). it says: 'an error occurred while loading http://www.ebay.com could not connect to host www.ebay.com.' any ideas? (hopefully it is something 'simple').

Hi Dan,
Do you need to set a proxy server to surf the web? If so, select Settings -> Configure Konqueror -> Proxy, make you settings, and retry.

thanks so much! that was it!!
now if i could just figure out how to configure kopete.......everything else seems to work correctly except for kopete (it won't show any of my contacts online when they are and it won't let me chat with them). i have also set something up wrong in the email client as it won't download mail off of the server. thanks again, dan
