How to prevent Kopete from starting

As soon as I start KDE, Kopete starts. This is very annoying. Is there a way to prevent it from doing this or I will have to uninstall it?

Check these places::
1. Check if a link to kopete is present in autostart directory. Konqueror->Go->Autostart. All files in this folder are executed at kde startup OR
2. Check if it is being started as part of previous session. got to $HOME/.kde/share/apps/session and see if there is a file called "kopete_*" in there. If that is the case you can configure session properties in kcontrol->kde components->session manager. There for "Advanced" you can enter a colon separated list of applications to be excluded from session management. You can also configure some properties regarding sessions there.

Thanks, man. 1. I had already checked. The other did not exist at all. But, finally I have learned how to prevent KDE from restoring the session at all, thanks to you. It is so simple that I don't know how I didn't stumble upon it before.

info - If you want session management for all apps sans kopete just enter its name in the "advanced" box and kde will not do any session management for kopete alone.

I don't want anything to start automatically. Turning off session restoration completely is definitely what I want. If I wanted programs to start automatically and other types of "user-friendliness", I would use Windows. :lol: When I think of msconfig.exe... :evil: Thanks one more time. I feel really stupid not having looked there myself before I even asked.
