Konqueror no file download

Konqueror no file download

kernel 2.6.3 and kde-3.2.0-1.4 with Fedora 2
test 1:

Sometime in the recent versions I have lost the
ability to download files and install files using a
double-click in Konqueror. You get the root log-in
window, then nothing. I have looked and I don't
find any config that can be set. I get no error
messages, it appears as though the download
program is not being called(Kget ?), this holds true
for the install program(Kpackage ?).

This all used to work fine, but I don't remember
which version broke the downloads. I have no
problem with connecting and downloading with
any of the networks using FireFox 0.8.

Anyone have any ideas.
