opening a url with konqeror in a new tab

i use gaim as my IM client (i know i know, sorry, but kopete is just way to unstable/buggy for me). for opening urls, i have it set to execute "konqeror %s". the problem is that i usually have a konqueror process already running and i'd like the new url to be opened in a new tab instead of a new konqeror window. how do i do that? are there some command line options for konqeror that i'm missing?

thanks.

Well, after reading konqueror --help and man konqueror I cant find any options or flags that will allow you to open a page in a new tab from the terminal, and I cant find a way to configure it to do so from within konqueror either, so unless I'm missing something, I guess that this isnt an option at the moment.

I think this is somewhere in the archives of the kde-kde or kde-linux mailinglist.

IIRC there is something for this in KDE3.2 and someone posted a script to do it with DCOP in KDE3.1
