Kopete and ICQ

Hello!

I'm trying to use my ICQ Account with Kopete. Problem is that I cannot receive messages. Status notifications works on other ICQ accounts, I can mail to other people but nobody can send me a mail.

My system is: Mandrake 9.2 with KDE 3.1.3, kopete compiled from source 0.7.4.

Any ideas ?
Regards,
Markus

Check your firewall settings!
Can you paste your debug output (needs to start kopete from konsole)?

Debug output

I am behind a dsl router. With Miranda under Windoze this is no problem, so kopete shouldn't trouble with it either.

Here is my kopete output from console.

i have a similar problem. when someone tries to send me a message, i only get #0000001 instead of the sent text....

i am using suse 8.2 and the current cvs version

hehe..give a fuck on kopete

i am now using sim (simple instant messenger). it is that simple und best is: it works

Same problem here with Kopete 0.74 behind a firewall. I can't receive icq messages, while the clients gaim and sim work. Has anyone an explanation or better a fix for this behavior?
I'd like to use kopete because of it's well-made gui and the seemless gpg-integration, but wouldn't add portforwards to my firewall when other clients work without..

No incoming ICQ Messages in Kopete 074

I have the same problem as others in regards to not receiving messages on ICQ and not seeing those people online when they actually are. Also, some other clients ARE able to send messages and I can see them as online. I have put this machine as DMZ and still have the same problem, even after multiple reconnects. This seems to be a software issue since other clients work fine without any adjustments. Does anyone have a fix for this?

i still have the problem... but WITHOUT a firewall... and as i said, other clients work perfectly...

I have same problem with kopete, when i execute tcpdump and when somebody send messege to me tcpdump don't show any packets for me. The problem is not in firewall because i inspect logs of firewall. I recieve messeges from some ICQ Clients from other(Miranda,..) no.

problem caused by obsolete miranda version

problem solved, at least for me, when the other side upgraded to miranda 0.32

It seems that sending messages between kopete and miranda is a problem that has been solved in the most recent release of Miranda. I cant say for sure what the problem really is/was, but as users upgrade their miranda installations we should see most of this clear up.

Hi,

same Problem with Trillian.

I installed Suse 9.0 with KDE something (I´m currently not sitting at my own PC) and Kopete 0.7.3. I could not receive messages from Trillian either lite and pro Version, and I dont see them online. Worst of all, a friend of mine installed same Version without any probs.

I now updated to 0.8RC1 and can receive messages now, but I still dont see them online. I allready tried it with deaktivated firewall without any change.

Users of miranda I can see online but most of my friends use Trillian.

Any ideas?

problem is known

hi, i got the same problems, though I sometimes cant recive messages, while sometimes I can. Depends on whether Im online oder offline.
I can recive Offline messages quite well.
As far as I know this bug shall be fixed in coming 0.8.
the code has been rewriten, and the detection of the online/offline recognition has been renewed.

As long as kde 3.2 hasnt been released, perhaps tomorrow, Ill use Licq, which works quit well. 8)
