kopete 0.7.4 compile problems

I am trying to compile 0.7.4 on Redhat 8.0. I can configure but my make fails immediately with message saying "Moc has changed too much" .

Any ideas?

I am using KDE 3.1.4

kopeteevent.moc:17:2: #error "This file was generated using the moc from 3.0.5. It"
kopeteevent.moc:18:2: #error "cannot be used with the include files from this version of Qt."

What are your KDE and QT versions? It looks like you're using Very Old QT 3.0.5, and you need KDE/QT 3.1.x or newer for Kopete.

I resolved that problem over the weekend. However, now when I run kopete and choose configure kopete. The window opens and kopete crashes. Sometimes it open and there is no form in the window to input information.

Can you run Kopete from the console and copy the debug output? Then if you send that and the debug information (configure Kopete with --enable-debug=full) included in the KDE crash handler to our mailing list (, including your KDE version, your QT version and your Kopete version, we'll be able to see why it is crashing.
