KMail deletes eMails on IMAP-Server

Hi, i use KMail 1.5.1 (KDE 3.1.1, Suse 8.2) to read my eMails and encountered a mysterious problem: KMail deletes my Mails on the IMAP-Server without showing them. This problem can be reproduces by the following procedure:
I send an eMail to my address, log in on the IMAP-server (via WebMail, using the konqueror) to be sure the eMail is definitely there. I don't read the Mail to keep it marked 'unread'. Then I disconnect from the internet and open KMail (of course, I get an alert saying 'Cannot connect to the mailserver'). Then I dial up again (via modem), and after the connection is established, I click on the 'get Mail'-Button to be able to read the new Mail on the IMAP-server. KMail doesn't show this new Mail, but instead deletes all eMails marked 'unread' on the server. Afterwards, the eMail has vanished (even when I log in via WebMail again). Has anyone had this problem before or knows how to solve it? Thanks for your help!
