If you download the Flash Player for linux, it will tell you that it is only for Mozilla/Netscape but thats just folly. Konqueror is compatible with Netscape and Mozilla plugins.

To do a system wide Installation, log in as root, otherwise u will only install the plugin for your user.

*NOTE - i dont remember the file names! *
Extract the compressed folder in console

tar -zxvf installer-flash ... what ever the file is called.
cd flash-player-installer
then run

sh installer..... (you will see the file).

install install, all stragihtforward.

Once this is done, open up konqueror, and go to the pLugins tab, the last one. then click on scan for new plugins. Check if it is there by clicking on the Plugins Tab. If the swf plugin isnt listed, make sure you have the correct folders to scan in the Scan tab listed.

HTH, sorry for not being articulate!
