Thanks! ^_^

Thanks!
I'd feared that it wasn't possible as I'd read a message on another forum that "Konqueror was the worst browser ever, because it doesn't antialias fonts".

Konqueror was the first browser that supported anti aliased fonts, so don't believe the fud :)

Where do I get better fonts from? Is there any way of downloading Windows fonts for Linux? It's just that very few websites include Linux fonts on their pages, so it gets a bit boring seeing everything in Helvetica all the time.

They're available at sourceforge:

Doe you have Windows?
If you got Windows, you can install the true type fonts from Windows (or windows apps like Corel WP, Corel usually puts hundreds of ttf fonts on their installation disks) in KDE (actually X Window) with the fontinstaller in kcontrol.

If you don't have Windows or Windows applications, try looking for free true type fonts on the Internet.

Bitstream developed some true type fonts for Linux, check out their site too..

Unfortunately, yes I do have Windows installed on four of my computers. So basically, I can just copy the Windows fonts on to disk and then install them in Linux? Where's the Linux font folder?

The current fonts I have, even with antialiasing switched on, at sizes over about 12pt the letter "o" looks like a cog in Konqueror (and probably other programs as well).

If you wait for kde 3.2, you can copy the fonts from the Windows directory into the Linux- directory in Konqueror.

For now, you can't.

What can you do?
Open the fontinstaller in kde's kcontrol, and follow the directions.

Yep, common problem with Unix fonts, they are bitmap fonts, not vector fonts, like ttf..
