Local Area Networking
This may be more of a 'linux' thing rather than kde, but...
I am connected to a LAN at home with 5 other copmuters, through a router. This subsequently is connected to a cable modem. As such, i use DHCP to connect to the internet and there is no config necessary. However I would like to know how to connect to my other machines (all which happen to be windows). I know i have to use Samba, but i cannot access the network -- unknown host.
Help anyone!?
You might think about asking Kenneth. He just posted something about Samba and I know he knows how to use it because he accesses Windows machines in our home from his Linux machine.
You just probably have to make sure you set all the IPs and all the information right and have all the right options turned on. Read the documentation for whatever Samba client you're using.
