KickPIM Problems

Hello All,
I installed KickPIM, mainly to check my email every so often and alert me when I get a new one. I set it up to check my email and told it to Autocheck every minute. Unfortunately, it will only check my mail when I actually tell it to, which is fairly useless. I could just start KMail and check it. Anyone know how to make it autocheck (or can recommend another panel applet that checks email? Thanks!

hmmm. tried kickpim too, but it should be more integrated in kmail, imho. now kmail shows up in my systray with the amount of new mails. if that whould be substituted with kickpim (showing mail and starting/activating kontact when I click) that whould be nice. but thats just not now... ask the author ;-)
