[KDE 3.1, Quanta] FTP Plugin

Hello folks.

I'm new in this forum, so I hope I didn't misplace this item.

Since a few days I'm using SuSE 9, my first Linux OS (FTP-install). Because I'm doing a lot of webdevelopment I'm trying to find a suitable HTML editor. Bluefish and Quanta are qualified! ;)

I heard it should be possible to directly access and save to a FTP-server. And I think this should be activated with a plugin. is this right? But I don't know where to find these plugins and how to install them...

I hope someone can help!!

Thanks!

Jasper

Hi,
in the project preferences, you can define a web server. This should automatically upload your files

Thanks fo r youre reaction. But this is not exactly what I mean....

Because now I have to copy everything from the server... But I want to adjust the pages online. (because more people are working on the same project)

I just want to browse the server on-line... no off-line copies!!!

I hope that's possible!!

thanks.

Quanta+ is a KDE Application and can access file through FTP transparently.

You just use the files FTP URL instead of a filename in the open/save dialog.

But there's no "real-time" on-line browsing ability available??

It's because I'm working on a huge site (>50 php-pages). And I need to jump from one to another rapidly. So it would be nice if I had a list next to me where I can easely open several pages!!!???!!!

But I understeand that's not possible.. that's a pity.. I really need it...

Thanks for your reactions!

I think whatever method Quanta is using for opeing files, for example the file open dialog, it can also display a FTP directory.

Short of that you can open a Konqueror in filemanger mode and let it display the directory and drag&drop files to the quanta window when needed.
