OpenOffice - Spreadsheet

I have a column with names and I want to separate the first and last names so they are in their own columns. Any idea how to do this without a manual edit? Heres a sample list;

'Nina Steve Smith'
'Eric Tangeman'
'Karen Corson'
'Mike Hiett'
'Sara Whittaker'
'Mark Gillett'
'Gary Zeller'
'Bob Lies'
'John Harmon'
'Todd Harruff'
'Glen Krites'
'Greg Gossman'
'Dwight Hartman'
'Max Evans'
'Hugh Core'
'John Elliott'
'John Morris'
'Brent Myers'
'David Fox'
'Ronald Ball'
'Kenneth Rozell'
'Jerry Hesseling'
'Kevin Williams'
'Elaine Troyer'
'Doug Bell'

That's one of the stupid things about OO. A tabbed delimited list is automatically divided into seperate columns but you don't have a seperate "text to column" option under tools (like Excel does) instead it is placed in OO writer, there you have an option to divid text into a table. I really don't get it myself.
Ofcorse I use windows, how else would I get fresh air into the room?

You can use a script to create a csv file which you import in OOo Calc

You can simply highlight the list and then do a middle button paste into an open oocalc spreadsheet. It should then open a dialog asking about delimiters, change the delimiter to space and it should paste it sensibly.
