Too easy to 'hang' your system with kuickshow

I know it's my own damn fault, but I've repeatedly thrown my system into a swap storm by simply holding down the '+' key in kuickshow.

After about 4 or 5 steps of zooming in, each zoom action starts taking a long time, so if you queue up a few zoom operations via key repeat on the + key, you get into a situation where kuickshow seems to have used up all the swap space (or is at least swapping its code and data). Bad enough that I've ended up rebooting the system after waiting many minutes for it to clear up. Recently tried it on an MDK10.0 beta, and there, I was able to kill the X server, though I may simply not have queued up as many operations.

It'd be really nice to prevent this. Either by having a maximum zoom or by throwing away keystrokes after each zoom operation (if, say, it's taken more than 1 second to complete). It's kind of embarrasing to be able to 'hang' a Linux system by viewing an image and holding down the + key...

My only experience with a comparable graphics viewer is IrfanView. They seem to set an upper limit on zooms.

Any other ideas?
