KWinTV crashes under SuSe 9.0

I just installed SuSe 9.0 on my home PC and wanted to start KWinTV... it doesn't even start up - it just displays a box telling me that "The application KWinTV (kwintv) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV)"

A backtrace delivers the following:

Hi,
I don't know the reason, but perhaps you can use another Program? Have you tried tvtime or xawtv? A lot of people prefere tvtime.

I just installed SuSe 9.0 on my home PC and wanted to start KWinTV...

I wouldn't use kwintv. It's no longer supported (except
maybe for critical bugfixes).

If you're willing to compile programs yourself I'd go for
qtvision which is a complete rewrite of kwintv.
I've been using it for over a year now.
See the homepage http://www.kwintv.org/
They're recommending it, too.

Disclaimer: I don't know the "tvtime" app dimitri
mentioned so maybe you want to try that, too.
Personally, I don't like xawtv.

Well, I don't like xawtv either... but I'll try the other mentioned programs.
I just chose KWinTV because I've been using it for at least a year...

I switched to tvTime - it's a pretty cool and easy-to-use tool :)
