¿And the packages for Debian?

Hi people!

in the KDE web, I can't see any official package for Debian. Curious, I think.

Exists, yes, varius UNOFFICIAL packages for some distributions, but why no the official packages por the habitual distibutions (RedHat, Debian, etc)?

The KDE project only releases source code. Binary packages are contributed by the distributors such as SuSE, Mandrake, ... or by interested individuals. If they don't provide any then there won't be anything to download from the KDE servers.

See http://www.kde.org/download/packagepolicy.php for the KDE package policy.

But having recently moved to Debian myself I can say that there *are* KDE packages in the Debian repository itself. I'm running a Debian "testing" system and it has an up-to-date KDE version: KDE 3.2.3.
