Session restore

Sorry if this has been covered before but I couldnt find any posts/info covering this.

I am using kde 3.2.2 under suse 9.0. I find that the session restore is quite selective in what it actually restores when I log back in. Most kde apps are restored but most 3rd party apps are not.

Is this a prob with kde or the 3rd party apps? is itg too optimisic to find the desktop "exactly as you left it" (from kde manual  )

Hi,

as far as I know session restore works only with KDE applications, not with 3rd party applications. I seem to remember that there was an option to choose wheather the session restore would also restore other than KDE applications in some distros (Redhat 6.2 or Suse 8.0), but I do remember that it didn't work for me.

Well, one might say it is a problem with 3rd party applications, on the other hand you might also blame KDE. I choose to blame 3rd party applications. :)
