No KDE 3.2 Desktop

I have just installed KDE 3.2 on slackware and after an initial problem with libXinema I've got it running :)
The problem is that the desktop does not work! I can run apps and they are fine but I cannot add folders to the desktop (No right click menu) and there is not the user details on the desktop, it's just blank! It doesn't matter which user I log in as, same problem.

I'm a newb so please explain in idiot if you can help :?

Fixed it :)

OK I had to reinstall but I've got it working now. I used a great tool called swaret that updates packages online. The only difference I noticed this time was that swaret did not install one of the packages. When I installed KDE 3.2 I downloaded all the packages and installed them all.
