KDE wont change/display wallpaper ...

Hi!
I need help, this is driving me nuts..
I loaded KDE 3.1.1a to my Sparc Solaris9, it works just fine but the only problem I have is that I cant change the wallpaper... If I browse to the folder where these pictures are I can see them just fine, but when I choose to display it, it does not... can anyone help me?

Is anyone with the same problem? any help please?

I install Solaris 9 again and KDE fresh install (3.1.1a) - the one that is on companion CD... and the same exact thing..

I can view/change wallpaper as long as it is .png or .gif pictures, but it does not want to show/display any .jpg picture... any idea? I been looking for this solution for days now..
