KDM problems in KDE 3.2

Hi,

I just upgraded my Mandrake 9.2 distro to KDE 3.2. The graphical login manager KDM won't allow me to login into ANYTHING, including "KDE" or "Default". When I enter username and password and click "login", the only thing that seems to happen is that "X" restarts and I'm right back at the KDM login screen again. The only workaround I've found is to select "console login" from KDM which drops me out to a text login. There I can login and then type "startx". KDE 3.2 then launches and loads with no trouble at all. Any help getting this issure resolved would be great. :?

you may try to look what you see in the /var/log/kdm, maybe there is an error message that would give you some clues about the problem.
