Konstruct error

I am trying to update to KDE 3.2 on Mandrake 9.1, using Konstruct. Everything went well for hours, then it stoped with the following error message:

cc: /usr/lib/.libs/ No such file or directory

Looking in /usr/lib confirms that I do not have a directory called .libs. However, I have, and libpth.14 in /usr/lib. Presumably those are the libraries Konfigure is looking for? If so, how do I tell Konfigure that?
