language german not in Personalisation/Country&language

Hallo linux-friends,

I am a newbie

I'm using debian 3.0. I don't know what kde-version that is? I would like use german as
language because I use kylix 3 in german. ü,ä,ö is replaced by a '?'. I use the control center and
go to Personalisation / country & language. If I click on language I see a C but nothing like
german or de. There are no other choices than "C".I s there a chance that I could copy
a language-package or files from SuSE 8.2 KDE to debian 3.0-KDE? I don't know what
package or file it could be.

Thanks for reading this!
