Office 11 for XP and 2000 w/ SP3

The next release of Microsoft Corp.'s Office productivity software will work only on Windows XP and Windows 2000 operating systems that have Service Pack 3 installed, the company said yesterday, citing security and compatibility issues with older systems.
The company could shift its plans if it receives overwhelming feedback from customers, the spokeswoman said. As it stands, Office 11 won't be designed for installation on PCs running Windows ME (Millennium Edition), Windows NT, Windows 98, Windows 98 SE (Special Edition) or Windows 95.

Just a thought

Just a thought but I'm just expressing an opinion on MS just like the people in the topic before mine, labled Microsoft. As a computer tech, I have to keep up on the news and I thought that others might want to keep up on it too, just to see how badly MS is screwing themselves this time.

This shows how M$ is scheming to get more money. They make Windows users  that are using old versions BUY  (OR pirate...hehe...) WIndows XP or 2000 so they can increase their sells on those, and on their Office Shit.

This might give a chance for OpenOffice to grow on the older Windows systems. But do you guys think Office 11's switch to XML is good or bad?

Personally, I dont see it as good or bad, i dont personally see the need, 99% of users, including myself have no need for XML document format, personally i think Microsoft is just toying with it's latest idea.
