kde 3 taskbar menu structure

I have kde 3 running on mandrake 9.0.

As far as I can tell, kde has 3 different taskbar menu structures stored in:
/usr/share/applnk
/usr/share/applnk-mdk
/usr/share/applnk-mdk-simplified

The default menu structure for a new account is applnk-mdk.

After running kappfinder, my taskbar now uses the the applnk menu structure.

How do I revert to the applnk-mdk menu structure?

kde 3 taskbar menu structure

Well in Suse it's under the KDE Control Center under Look and Feel then under menu options. But that's Suse so I'm not sure that it will be in the same place. Although it is KDE regardless.

Nope.. can't find anything under 'Look & Feel'.

This account has an additional '/home/~user/.kde/share/applnk' subdir which the other default accounts do not have. Every time I delete this subdir, it comes back again at the next login.

I figure the existence of this subdir is causing kde to use the applnk menu structure. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how this subdir is being created.

Any ideas?

try right clicking on the 'K' icon and selecting 'menu editor'. From there i think you can change the menu types.

Menudrake

You should use menudrake (as root) to choose which one you want to use.

Tks all .. I overlooked the MenuDrake->Action->Modify Menu Style option.

I did it the hard way .. deleted the /home/~usr/.menu subdir. :-)
