KDE4 not optimal screen resolution

Debian Squeeze
xserver-xorg
NVIDIA legacy driver
KDE4
FSC ScaleoView L22W-7SD
Nvidia FX 5600

My monitor requires 1680x1050 at 60 Hz for good resolution.

Giving the xorg.conf a modeline that allows this resolution, KDE either does not fit to the screen or changes resolution to 1440x900 at 50 Hz, which makes a lousy picture.
How do I get a 1680x1050 picture in KDE.
It has been working fine with KDE 3.5 and Debian Lenny.
Anyone out there to help me to fix that problem?
Thanks!

Solved

Solution found (thanks to Axel):
xserver asks both monitor and graphik-card for clocking and makes wrong decision.
Section "Monitor"
Option "ModeValidation" "NoMaxPClkCheck"
makes it work fine!
