spaces in login or password field.

New to this forum and had a question about the login screen. Using kde 3.5 and when a user logs in and puts spaces in the username or password field it tells them incorrect password. Is there a way to tell them something like "incorrect password! Spaces in the username or password box" or maybe since spaces arent allowed truncate them when it tries to authenticate the username or password. thanks for any help and sorry if this is confusing.
