Idle KDE loses Internet traffic

Hi all!

I've got a mysterious problem with my KDE 4.2.4 (Mandriva 2009.1) - if my computer is left idle for like 10 minutes, almost all Internet traffic stops. Now some details:

- by "losing traffic" I mean that the network connection is not lost but I don't even get any response pinging my gate computer, or any site; at the same time, Kopete may continue to work *almost* fine (say, losing ICQ but keeping Jabber or YM);

- mtr *someplace* returns 80-90% of packages lost at the gate;

- if I log out from KDE while the Internet is still active, it is active when I log back in; when the traffic is lost, only reboot helps (ifdown/ifup disconnects/connects the network but does not restore traffic);

- I didn't have this problem in the previous KDE version I used (4.2.2);

- the problem only appears in KDE, Gnome behaves ok.

Any idea what that can be? ?(

TIA,

Trueash
