pressed Shift emulates Numlock mode

Good Day, everyone!!
The case is: KDE v.3.5.5, Numlock status is off, I have some text in the clipboard and wanna paste it to an application, say terminal emulator. I used to press Shift+Ins hotkey rather than Ctrl+V. So when I press Shift+Ins the digit 0 appears. If I turn NumLock mode on then Shift+Ins becomes Paste. What should I do to make Shift+Ins hotkey be the Paste when NumLock mode is off??
