resolution problem

I have the following problem.

I got a Kubuntu 8.04 installed with KDE 4.1 on my old Toshiba 2430-201. On the road a I use the notebook's display with 1024x768, but at home I use a 19" display with a resolution of 1280x1024.The problem is I do not have the appropriate resolutions listed when I try to change the resolution in the System Setting. Any ideas where the problem is?

Got the NVidia driver installed and have all effects working well.

I have LG 22" TFT and i want to Use it in 90 Degree Anti-clock Direction due to my requirement of Potrait Sized Screen.

Will this be helpful for the same?
