no soundcard in phonon list

I'm using kde 4.1 rc with arch (kdmod4), and it works perfectly apart the sound. if i open sound in systemsettings, the list shows none of my two soundcards but only esd. i tried to remove ~/.kdemod/ but nothing changed. if i use vlc or amarok1 i can hear perfectly, so it is not a problem of the driver.
what can i do?

solved

solved: i thought it was phonon's problem, but investigating further it turned to be a little problem of hal
