Wireless internet doesn't work after switching to KDE from Gnome

Hello! I just switched from KDE to Gnome on Hardy Heron Ubuntu, but KWifiManager doesn't seem to be detecting my wireless router. In Gnome, my internet works just fine (I'm writing this post from a Gnome session, obviously!). I'm relatively a linux newbie, and not really up for super-in-depth kernel hacking, but if someone could help me diagnose the problem, that would be fantastic. Thanks!
