Wi-Fi connection

A new idiot needs help with connecting to the Internet.

I've loaded KDE 8.04 Remix off PC Utilities magazine 101 (UK).

Konqueror looks wonderful. This is my first time with Linux, but how do I connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi?

Thanks.

Wi-Fi connection

Failing any replies...

Can anyone recommend any websites with good 'connection' or 'Wi-Fi' information?

Thanks. JimByTheWoods.

WiFi

What card are you using? If you dont know, you can often find out during boot, when a message similar to "Unsupported wireless card: <wireless card here>: visit www.linuxwireless.com/en/users/driver/<your wireless card here>" may appear.

You can also leave linux connected via ethernet cable direct to your router. You can then connect to the internet and usually get the driver through an automatic update.

Also, throughout all this keep an eye on the Hardware Drivers Manager. If you see a driver for wireless cards in here enable it. It can be found in KDE>System>Hardware Drivers Manager
Have ya tried turnin' it off an' on again? :P

Thank you, Abstract.

This appears to be an iwl3945 problem,

which I am trying to get answered via Launchpad.

Hope you guys talk to each other.

Thanks,

Jim.
