Digikam GPS tagging

Hi guys,

I've recently started delving into GPS tracking for various things and was looking to use digikam to tag my photos. It seems to work fine, but I'm having difficulty getting it to write the data to the actual files - the autotagging with .GPX format works correctly, but the only way I can save the metadata correctly is to edit the file and select "save as", saving the file to a different place.

It seems like a lot of work, especially when working with a lot of photos. Is there any way to simply make digikam write the new metadata to the original file?
