empty trash can

Hello,

I did a search of this forum for "empty trash" but my problem wasn't addressed in any prior posts.

I have files in my trash can that don't belong to me. They belong to root.

But, I have no idea how to cd into my trash can.
The only information I can see when I double click my Trash can on my desktop is:
- trash:/

How do I get into that directory as root?
When I look in my home directory I don't even see a "Trash" or even a ".Trash". I don't see a trash can in my home directory even when looking at hidden files.

How can I get root to empy my trash can?

Thank you for your time and help.

RE: empty trash can

KDE's trash dir is at ~/.local/share/Trash
