I am brand new to Linux and KDE so I am not sure if the following is appropriate for you so I am hoping it is. I know I have my own problems that no one helps with.

A) As near as I can tell Linux is much more highly regimented than windows. It is not true, as far as I can tell, that this is for independant thinkers who help each other. I can get far more help about windows and none for KDE.

B) you are not allowed to install anything you feel like installing. Apparently, the power to do it must be allowed by some mysterious god in the ether that controls an applet called "add/remove" .. If the application ain't listed there you are not going to do anything.

C) as for the KDE program itself there is a manual on one of the KDE websites that is supposed to tell how to do it but the page comes up blank ... nothing on it ... and no one seems to care about that either ... obviously there is no point in telling you where it is because the help itself is broken in this case.

I know that is not what you want to hear but that is what is happening to me and it sounds like you are running into the same thing.

Good luck my friend.
