Executing desktop item as root without password

The task: execuitng a desktop item as root without having to be prompted with the root password each time.

The reason: a number of KDE applications for which I need root access are run fairly consistently by myself as a user. I do not want to have to switch sessions to the root user in order to run the applications from KDE.

The solution at command line level:

1) Add an entry for the particular user in the /etc/sudoers file for running a particular command using the NOPASSWD: sudoers tag.

The solution at the KDE desktop level: ???
