Help with Kopete sounds and file-tranfers

Help with Kopete sounds and file-tranfers

Ever since I started using Kopete on Ubuntu, the file-transfer system hasn't worked properly at all. I've used Kopete mostly, only when I coudn't get it to run and tried Pidgin, which I thought sucked.
Anyway, the file transfers fail far more often than not. Most of them don't even initialize, and when they do, most of the time, they get stuck usually before even 50%.
So does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this and maybe you could also offer a solution suggestion also? Thanks.

Oh and the sounds have totally stopped working too, even tho I just need the sounds for someone appearing online and sending a nudge to work, but they will not apply. I think it may have something to do with me trying to configure my 5.1 Altec Lansing since there are two sound devices listed in the Ubuntu volume control. Try and give me some suggestions for this also please.


It's the new Ubuntu btw, 7.10.

Well you're not the only one with file transfer problems, I have the exact same issues as well. I second the request for help in this topic, so if someone knows anything, please tell!
